VitalProteinRx™ Protein Bar/Peanut Butter flavor

VitalProteinRx™ is a state-of-the-art medical food designed to provide highly concentrated quality protein for patients on dialysis and those with diabetes. Although VitalProteinRx™ was created with these patients in mind, it is also useful in the management of other patients with important nutritional needs. Protein malnutrition is a major problem facing dialysis patients. These patients often develop taste disorders, anorexia, and an aversion to meat, all of which put them at risk for severe protein malnutrition and other nutritional deficiencies. The use of protein supplementation can significantly reduce the risk of protein malnutrition and may help improve overall patient outcomes.

VitalProteinRx™ Protein Bar is available in three delicious flavors: Chocolate Brownie, Peanut Butter, and Lemon Zest. Each tasty bar packs 20 grams of bioavailable protein – Biological Value (BV) higher than that of fish, beef, and chicken – with less than 1 gm of sugar (especially important for the diabetic and glucose intolerant patients), and limited potassium, sodium, and phosphorus. VitalProteinRx™ is recommended for protein-malnourished, dietary-restricted patients, offering a safe and easy way to boost protein levels, an important element in achieving optimal health, not only in dialysis patients but in other patients with chronic states of malnutrition as well.

Medical Foods are highly regulated by the FDA and have to meet very specific requirements: A medical food must be prescribed by health care practitioners for patients with special nutrient needs in order to manage specific diseases or health conditions. To continue taking medical foods, patients must be under a practitioner’s ongoing care.
