VitalRenew™ FAQ

Q: What are the mitochondria and how do they affect aging?
A: The mitochondria are the power plants of your cells. They generate most of the cell's supply of ATP, which is used as a source of energy. The general aging process and free radical damage can cause the mitochondria to become less efficient and dysfunctional — leading to degenerative changes usually associated with aging. Many studies suggest that certain supplements like CoQ10, acetyl-l-carnitine, and alpha lipoic acid may help support mitochondrial health and protect against free radical damage.*

Q: I thought CoQ10 was a supplement for the heart. How does it affect the mitochondria and energy production?
A: CoQ10 is an essential cofactor in the mitochondrial electron transport chain that is vital for the production of ATP. It is essential for the conversion of the food we eat into energy. CoQ10 has antioxidant activity in mitochondria and cellular membranes, protecting against peroxidation of lipids imbedded in membranes. Clinical studies have shown that CoQ10 does promote cardiovascular health as well healthy mitochondrial function.*1-5

Q: I'm currently taking your DailyMultiple. Can I takeVitalRenew along with it? If so, can I take them together?
A: Yes. The antioxidants in theVitalRenew will complement the nutrients in the DailyMultiple. You can take both supplements at the same time with food. Most people find taking their supplements at breakfast or dinner to be most convenient.

Q: What is resveratrol?
A: Resveratrol is a polyphenol present in red wine. It has been thought to be responsible for the cardiovascular benefits associated with moderate wine consumption.* New research suggests that by regulating a gene associated with aging, resveratrol could promote longevity.*

Q: Are there any side effects with resveratrol?
A: There are no known side effects or drug interactions reported with the use of resveratrol at this time.
